Below are the steps carried out throughout your stay with us at the LIV fertility center making us the most successful fertility clinic in Mexico.
STEP 1 | Initial Consultation with Your LIV Journey Coordinator
The initial step of the procedure will be guided by a Journey Coordinator who will explain the procedure, the requirements, and the doctors requested information. They will then explain the different Gender Selection methods i,e, Ericsson, Microsort, and PGS. Each method has limitations and requirements that will directly affect the IVF or IUI procedure.
Please be aware that the Gender Selection procedure is completely dependent on the results of the Sperm Analysis and the IPs medical testing, there will be situations where the method that is selected will not be authorized due to negative factors on the test results.
This is an important process in building a family and we ensure that all our patients get to feel comfortable and confident in our processes. STEP 2 | Consultation with Your LIV Arrivals Coordinators
Once you have become an official LIV Fertility Center patient, you will then be introduced to our Arrivals Coordinators who will begin the scheduling, programming and working on your Medical File.
Each Coordinator has a specific responsibility and will be in charge of providing the needed information and indications so that this Journey can progress without any delays.. Please be honest with your coordinator and provide the information requested in a timely manner.
STEP 3 | MicroSort® Mexico Procedure
The gender selection process starts with cleaning the sperm sample. Cleaning is important to remove seminal liquid and non-motile cells. After the washing, the sample is stained with a special fluorescent material that attaches to the DNA contained in the sperm.
The Microsort sperm sorting procedure has a very strict requirement that needs to be met in order to be authorized and the sample accepted. LIV Fertility center will be requesting a thorough Semen Analysis in order to determine whether the sample can be successfully sorted.
If the Semen Analysis reflects lower than the required amount, you will be provided with consent forms provided for signing before we can attempt to sort the sample. The final results will depend highly on the amount that is provided at the time of the Microsort procedure.
The stained sperm are analyzed individually by a flow cytometer, where cells pass through a laser to create the stain attached to the DNA fluoresce. The sperm containing the X chromosome will indicate a brighter signature sheen than the sperm containing the Y chromosome.
The sperms carrying the chromosome that designates the desired gender are separated from the rest of the sample, resulting in an enriched sperm sample — ready for innovative reproduction techniques. The sample carrying the opposite gender will be automatically discarded. There will not be an option to freeze both genders from a single Microsorted sample.
STEP 4 | IVF Cycle
Couples will undergo the In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Cycle ovulation, egg retrieval, fertilization and embryo transfer, and pregnancy testing.
The indications and medical steps will be created and supervised by our fertility doctors but will be provided and explained by one of our Patient Coordinators.
